We want your gently read books.

• We are happy to consider your used books for either store credit or cash. 
• We typically pay 10% of the list price in cash or 25% of the list price in store credit that is good towards the purchase of used books within the store.  These percentages are guidelines and can vary depending on the amount we think we can sell the book for.
• We do not take textbooks, book club editions, readers digest editions, magazines, or encyclopedias.
• We generally do not accept hardcover fiction, unless the title has not yet been released in paperback.
• The books must be in good readable condition.  No highlighting, underlining or damaged covers please.
• We make decisions by comparing the books to our present stock and then assessing whether or not we think we can sell the book in the shop.
• If the book has our price on it and is in good condition, we will almost always take the book in exchange for store credit.
• If you bring in two grocery bags or less of books we can usually give you an answer within an hour anytime the store is open.  Any more than two bags requires an appointment.
• It is possible to make special arrangements for large collections.
• We generally take a hiatus from buying books during the holiday season to accommodate the shopping rush.  So please do not bring books in during the month of December.
