Featured Artist of the Month

Each month The Book Shop features a local artist’s work in one of the B Street facing window display areas.  This is a tradition that extends back to the very beginning of the Book Shop.  In 1960 Virginia immediately used The Book Shop to benefit the arts community of the Eden Area.  Precious book-selling space at the back of the shop became an art gallery for local emerging artists to exhibit their art publically, often for the first time.  Virginia, herself a superb nature photographer, ultimately encouraged many dozens of artists by featuring their work.  Several of Virginia’s own beautiful photographic prints still adorn The Book Shop walls.  After Hank moved The Book Shop to its current location, he continued the long standing commitment to local artists by moving the gallery to the shop’s front window, where it has been ever since.  The current owners are happy to continue this wonderful longstanding tradition.

The art display changes every month and has at least a 12-month waiting list. Click Here for a form The Book Shop requires for an artist to sign up for a spot on the waiting list.
